Do you get tired of going to the same Cemetery time and time again?
We did! so we have been undertaking a photographic record of headstones in various Municipalities for everyone to utilize for family history purpose.
We have almost completed coverage of Southern Tasmania with only a few municipalities to go.
The State Library Of Tasmania have purchased our work and are archiving it in their branches.
There are some beautiful old graves out there and will be lost for ever if they are not preserved.
Unfortunately Some graves have to be called unknown as they are not readable any more without expensive scientific equipment (which we do not have), even some of the newer ones can not be read either.
Time and weather will finally erode this history and our aim is to ensure there is a digital image that will last for ever.
There are a lot of books out there that have cemetery listings that will only give you death dates however a photo will on most occasions give you much more information.
