Hunt had arrived in VDL aboard the Louisa from NSW on 1 March 1844 as a free settler.  At 79 years of age on 15 November 1877 he was charged at Hobart with being Drunk & Disorderly and sentenced to 7 Days gaol.  His warrant number was 12140.  Hunt was a shoemaker, Catholic with three or more prior convictions and was illiterate.  He died at CSG on 18 November 1877 at 4:00 a.m.  (Cause unknown.
