McMAHON; Thomas

McMahon supposedly (according to the gate-book) arrived in VDL aboard the Nautilus (date unknown) as a free settler although the records show no McMahon aboard that vessel.  The 56-year-old was found guilty of Stealing Apples at New Norfolk on 2 May 1879 and sentenced to 2 Months in gaol.  His warrant number was 12874.  McMahon was a gardener, Catholic with one prior conviction and was illiterate.  He died at CSG on 10 June 1879.  (Cause unknown.)
